Inspired by the rich history and landscapes of Manistee, this impactful adaptive use of the 1906 Manistee County Savings Bank will transform it into a 19-key boutique hotel. Situated in the heart of Manistee’s River Street, the hotel will provide upscale accommodations that honor the town’s legacy while meeting the needs of even the most well-traveled guest. The building is a contributing resource in the existing National Register of Historic Places and local historic districts. Our client needed a solution that balanced historic preservation requirements to gain access to valuable incentives that will support rehabilitation, with the current market demands of this revitalized Lake Michigan community. Reed Walker Design Collective delivered full-service experiential hospitality interior design and preservation services, creating a well-appointed hotel featuring quality craftsmanship, unique regional detailing, and modern comforts. By honoring original limestone facades and interior character while integrating contemporary guest amenities, we created a destination that strengthens downtown revitalization, leverages historic tax credits, and offers visitors a design-forward stay rooted in Manistee’s story.
