Some homes ask to be rethought from the inside out. This one asked for something more specific: a place where a busy family could actually breathe.
Working from our garden inspired concept, the design draws from the clarity and material honesty of Scandinavian interiors, layered with the warmth and texture that real family life brings. The result is a home that feels considered without feeling precious, and beautiful without feeling untouchable.
On the first floor, the kitchen became the heart of the renovation. A custom millwork surround anchors a Wolf range beneath a painted range hood, framed by Pewter Green cabinetry, a quartzite perimeter counter, and a 10-foot walnut island built for gathering. The second island is ideal for homework sessions or quick meals between practices and activities. The adjacent butler's pantry doubles as a working prep zone and bar, finished in white oak with checkerboard marble tile underfoot and deep teal zellige at the backsplash. Across the entry, the office received floor-to-ceiling built-ins in Benjamin Moore Stillwater with heritage brass hardware, and a custom walnut-surface desk designed to hold everything that busy lives require.
Black window frames and dark exterior cladding hold the contrast that gives the interior its brightness. Warm, Greek Villa walls and light oak plank flooring run throughout, pulling daylight deep into each room and letting the views do their work.
This is a home designed for connection: to the outdoors, to each other, and to the small daily rituals that make a house feel like it belongs to you.
