Most people don't look forward to going to the dentist. Prestige Dental Care asked a different question: what if they did?

The team at Prestige came to Reed Walker Design Collective with a 7,438 square foot suite in South Lyon, Michigan and a clear ambition: to build a practice that felt genuinely welcoming, not just clean and functional. The result is a dental office interior that borrows more from hospitality design than from healthcare convention.

Warm wood tones, soft layered lighting, and a palette grounded in stone, linen, and muted naturals replace the clinical white-and-chrome that most patients expect. A sculptural fluted wood reception desk anchors the entry, its radius form and toe-kick lighting offering a moment of calm before anything clinical begins. The waiting area is furnished for comfort and ease, with a statement chandelier overhead and a dedicated Kidzone nearby, where geometric murals in blue, terracotta, and gold give the youngest patients something to look forward to.

Every room-to-room transition was considered. LVT flooring shifts from warm woodgrain in public areas to a subtler stone pattern in staff-only zones, creating a clear sense of place throughout the suite. Treatment rooms are bright and transparent, designed to communicate trust, while the corridors and break room give the care team their own quiet reprieve.

The design integrates over 30 rooms including treatment rooms, consultation spaces, sterilization and laboratory areas, administrative offices, and two lavatories finished with marble-look tile and brushed nickel sconces. Furniture selection spans commercial-grade seating from Source, Bernhardt, and Steelcase, procured and coordinated through a full furniture administration package.
